A word about banks

Banks are great. Until the answer is no.

If your bank can help, it's usually the cheapest money around, and we'll happily tell you so. But banks run on tight checklists, and plenty of strong businesses fall outside them for reasons that have nothing to do with how good they are.

An ATO payment plan. A default from years ago. A business that's only eight months old. Profits that don't show up until the end of the season. A deadline on Friday. That's where non-bank and private lenders come in, and it's exactly the kind of enquiry we see every day.

No credit check to enquire

Asking what's possible never touches your credit file. A credit check only comes up if you decide to go ahead with a specific option.

Not sprayed to fifty lenders

Your details aren't auctioned off or blasted to a pile of lenders. One team reads your situation and matches it properly.

A real person reads it

A lending specialist looks at your enquiry and calls you. Honest, accurate answers on the form mean the right option comes up first time.

Questions

Good questions, straight answers

What is the Australian Business Loan Directory?

It's a calm, searchable directory of Australian business finance. You can look up lenders, compare loan types, run the numbers with free calculators and read plain-English guides. When you'd rather talk to a person, one short enquiry puts your situation in front of a lending specialist.

Do you list every business lender in Australia?

We list the non-bank, online, private, invoice, asset and specialist lenders that actively fund Australian businesses, plus profiles of the major banks. We add lenders as we verify them, and lenders can ask to be listed through our join-the-directory page.

My bank said no. Can I still get a business loan?

Often, yes. Banks are great when you fit their policy, but plenty of good businesses don't: a tax debt, a past default, a new ABN, seasonal cash flow or no time to wait. Non-bank and private lenders assess those situations case by case, and property-secured options can move very quickly.

Will enquiring affect my credit score?

No. There's no credit check when you first enquire. A credit check only comes up later, if you choose to go ahead with a specific lender and option.

Do you publish interest rates?

No. Business loans are priced on the individual business, the security and the urgency, so a published rate would mislead more people than it helped. Our calculators let you plug in the costs a lender actually quotes you.

How much can a business borrow?

Unsecured and cash flow options for trading businesses typically run from $5,000 to $500,000, sized on turnover and bank statements. Property-secured business loans (first mortgages, second mortgages and caveat loans) typically run from $20,000 to $5,000,000.

Are you a lender or a broker?

We're a directory first. When you enquire, your details go to one lending team, not a pile of lenders, and a real person works out which option fits. We'll always tell you plainly what's possible and what isn't.

Ready when you are

Tell us what you need and what it's for. About 60 seconds, no credit check to enquire, and one real person, not fifty lenders, gets back to you.
