What you can expect from every page in the directory, and what we'll never do.
Plain English, Australian context
Every page is written for Australian business owners, using Australian tax, legal and lending terms: ABN, BAS, PAYG, PPSR, stamp duty, state revenue offices. If a term needs explaining, we explain it, and the glossary covers the rest.
Facts we can stand behind
- Thresholds, deadlines and rules are checked against official sources such as the ATO, ASIC, business.gov.au, the RBA and state revenue offices, and linked at the foot of the page.
- We don't invent statistics, testimonials, reviews or star ratings.
- We don't publish interest rates or "from" rates. Business loans are priced individually, and a headline rate misleads more people than it helps.
- Examples are clearly marked as illustrative and use no real business names.
Lender profiles
Profiles describe what a lender does, using the lender's own public material and other reliable public sources. See how we review lenders for what goes into each one. We don't link out to lenders we have no relationship with; partner lenders are labelled as partners wherever they appear.
Independence and how we're funded
Lenders can't pay to change what a profile says. The directory is funded by enquiries from business owners who ask us to help, which is why every page offers a short, optional enquiry form.
Keeping things current
Pages show the date they were last reviewed. We refresh guides and profiles regularly, and sooner when rules change. If you spot something out of date, please tell us.
