What the directory is

The Australian Business Loan Directory is a reference library for anyone running an Australian business who needs, or might soon need, finance. It profiles the online lenders, private lenders, non-bank lenders, invoice financiers and asset financiers that fund Australian businesses, alongside the major banks. It explains every common loan type, covers more than ninety industries and every state and capital city, and has twenty free calculators you can use without handing over a single detail.

Everything is written in plain Australian English by people who have spent years around business lending. Where a fact can be checked against an official source (the ATO, ASIC, business.gov.au, the RBA), we link to it.

Who it's for

Mostly, it's for the owner who has already had one conversation with the bank that didn't go to plan. Banks are a great first stop, and often the cheapest money you'll ever borrow. But their checklists are tight, and plenty of strong businesses fall outside them: a tax debt on a payment plan, a default from a rough patch years ago, a business that's only eight months old, profits that arrive at the end of the season, or a deadline that won't wait three weeks for a credit committee.

How the directory is funded

We don't charge lenders to appear, and we don't rank them by who pays the most. The directory is funded by enquiries: when you choose to ask us to look at your situation, your enquiry goes to one lending team that works through the options with you, including our partner lenders where they're the right fit. Partner lenders are always labelled as partners.
